Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Voshi when you build, share, or use a tool. Last updated October 19, 2026.
Voshi is a service of MyEducator, LLC ("MyEducator", "we"). By creating an account, building or sharing a tool, or launching a tool from a course, you agree to these terms. If you use Voshi on behalf of an institution, the agreement between that institution and MyEducator governs where the two differ.
1. Accounts
You need an account to build tools. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
2. Your tools
You own what you build. A tool you create, and the code, text, and media in it, remain yours. You can download the code at any time.
So that we can run it, you grant MyEducator a license to host, copy, display, run, and distribute your tool through Voshi, in your courses and in any course you share it with, for as long as it is on Voshi. The license ends when you remove the tool, except for copies a course has adopted, which keep running for that course until it ends.
You confirm that you have the rights to everything you put in a tool, including material that others created, and that the tool does not infringe anyone's rights.
3. What may be built
A tool on Voshi must not:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- collect information from students beyond what the tool needs for its educational purpose, or send that information anywhere outside Voshi without the institution's agreement;
- contain malicious code, or try to reach data, accounts, or systems it has not been given;
- mislead users about what it does, who made it, or what it costs;
- harass, demean, or discriminate against anyone.
We review tools before they are shared beyond the builder's own courses, and we may review any tool at any time. We may ask for changes, or suspend or remove a tool, when it breaks these terms, puts users or institutions at risk, or does not meet the accessibility and security standards institutions require of us. We tell the builder why.
4. Sharing and versions
You choose whether a tool stays private, is shared with chosen instructors, or is listed for anyone to use. A course that adopts a tool stays on the version it adopted; publishing a new version does not change a course until its instructor chooses to move to it.
5. Free and paid tools
Building a tool, testing it, and using it in courses is free as long as no one is charged for it, within reasonable use of the service. We may set limits on storage, traffic, and build activity to keep the service available to everyone.
If you set a price for your tool, Voshi publishes and sells it on your behalf. Students (or their institution) pay Voshi; Voshi keeps 70% of the revenue and pays you 30%, on the schedule and by the method described in the dashboard. Taxes collected on sales, payment-processing costs, refunds, and chargebacks are handled by Voshi out of its share. You set the price; we may ask you to reconsider a price that seems out of line, and we may decline to sell a tool.
Students who pay for a tool are buying access to it for their course. Refunds follow the policy shown at purchase and the institution's rules.
6. Student data
Information about students reaches Voshi from an institution's LMS, and we handle it as described in our Privacy Policy. As a builder, you may use the data your tool collects only to run the tool for the course, and you must keep it confidential. You may not copy it out of Voshi or use it for any other purpose.
7. Our service
We work to keep Voshi available and secure, and we maintain the certifications and reviews institutions require; see what Voshi handles. We may change the service, add or retire features, and schedule maintenance. We give notice of changes that affect how tools are built or run.
8. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time; download your tools' code first. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. When an account closes, tools that courses have adopted keep running for those courses until they end, and we then delete the account's data as the Privacy Policy describes.
9. Disclaimers and limits
Voshi is provided as is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that a tool a builder creates will suit any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, MyEducator is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, or we paid you, in the twelve months before the claim.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, where MyEducator is based, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the date at the top is the date of the current version, and a material change is announced to builders before it takes effect.
