Privacy Policy
What Voshi collects, why, who sees it, and how long it is kept. Last updated October 19, 2026.
Voshi is operated by MyEducator, LLC ("MyEducator", "we"). This policy covers www.voshi.com, the Voshi builder dashboard, and the tools that Voshi hosts and runs inside a learning management system (LMS). It applies to three kinds of people: builders, the instructors and developers who create tools; students and other course members who use those tools from a course; and visitors to this website.
Information we collect
From builders
- Account details you give us: your name, email address, institution, and password.
- The tools you build: their code, settings, descriptions, and versions, and the prompts you give the builder.
- Payment and payout details for paid tools, which are handled by our payment processor; we do not store card numbers.
- Support messages and other correspondence with us.
From students and course members
When a tool is launched from a course, the LMS sends Voshi what the tool needs to run and to report back:
- Your name, email address, and role in the course (such as student or instructor), as the institution's LMS provides them.
- The course and the place in it the tool was launched from.
- What you do in the tool: your answers, work, files, and scores, which the tool stores so it can show them back to you and to your instructor.
- Scores the tool reports to the course gradebook.
- For a paid tool, your purchase, handled by our payment processor.
From visitors to this website
www.voshi.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) for security and operations. The dashboard and the hosted tools use cookies only to keep you signed in.
How we use it
- To run the service: build, host, and launch tools, keep sessions signed in, and report scores to the gradebook.
- To take payments and pay builders for paid tools.
- To support builders, students, and institutions, and to answer their questions.
- To keep the service secure: detect abuse, investigate incidents, and meet the security commitments we make to institutions.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student information for advertising or for building profiles for any purpose other than the course.
Student records and FERPA
Student information reaches Voshi through an institution's LMS, and we handle it on that institution's behalf, in the role of a school official with a legitimate educational interest under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We use it only to provide the tool to that course, we follow the institution's instructions about it, and we do not share it except as described below. Students who want to see or correct their records should ask their institution, which controls them.
Do you keep credit card data?
No. We use Stripe, which is a respected and well-known payment processor. Payment data like credit card numbers go directly to Stripe rather than to Voshi. We do not collect or keep these data on Voshi infrastructure.
Who sees it
- Your institution. Scores go to the course gradebook, and instructors see their students' work in the tools they use.
- The tool's builder. A builder can see how their tool is used, including the work students do in it, for the courses where it runs.
- Service providers that run the service under contract with us: cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), our payment processor, and email delivery. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Law and safety. We disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users, institutions, or Voshi.
- A successor, if MyEducator is merged or acquired; the new owner would be bound by this policy.
How long we keep it
Builder accounts and tools are kept while the account is active. Student work and scores are kept while the course is active and for the period the institution requires, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Server logs are kept for a short, fixed period. We delete information sooner on an institution's or a builder's request, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or financial-record reasons.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access to it is limited to the people who need it, and the service is independently audited (SOC 2 Type II). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we treat student data with the care an institution's own review expects. See what Voshi handles for the full list.
Your choices and rights
- Builders can see and change their account details in the dashboard, download their tools' code, and ask us to close their account.
- Students' rights over their course records run through their institution; we support those requests.
- Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or a similar law applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information and to object to some uses. Write to us and we will respond as the law requires.
