Accessibility Statement

Every student should be able to use a tool in their course, whatever they read with and however they navigate. Last updated October 19, 2026.

Our commitment

Voshi is built and run by MyEducator, which has published accessible course materials to universities since 2011. The same commitment applies to Voshi: the builder dashboard, this website, and every tool Voshi runs inside a learning management system should work for students who read with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, magnify the screen, or rely on other assistive technology.

Standard

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Our Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) documents where we stand, criterion by criterion, and is available to any institution on request.

How we work

  • The platform is audited against WCAG by an independent accessibility firm, and we fix what the audits find, re-test the fixes, and record remaining items in the conformance report.
  • We test with the assistive technologies students use: NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, and TalkBack on Android, alongside automated checks.
  • The parts of a tool that Voshi supplies, such as the launch, sign-in, and grade reporting, are built once and accessible for every tool.

Tools that instructors build

A tool's content comes from its builder, so accessibility is a shared job. Voshi's builder writes tools to accessibility standards from the start: semantic markup, keyboard operation, labels, contrast, and text alternatives. Before a tool can be shared with other instructors or listed publicly, we review it for accessibility and security, and we ask for changes if it falls short. A builder who uploads their own code is held to the same standard.

A tool used only in its builder's own courses is the builder's responsibility, and we help: the review is available on request, and a student's report about any tool reaches both us and the builder.

Known limitations

Accessibility is ongoing work. Some complex, highly interactive tools, such as simulations and drawing-based activities, may have parts that are hard to make fully equivalent for every assistive technology; where that is the case, the tool should offer an alternative way to complete the work, and our review checks for one. The conformance report lists the platform's open items.

Report a barrier

If you run into something you cannot use, or you want our conformance report, write to compliance@myeducator.com. Tell us the tool or page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use, and we will work with you directly. Institutions can also route requests through their accessibility office or disability services, who may contact us the same way.
